Adventure Overview
This trip takes you deep into the Sahara for a true desert experience. You’ll travel through stunning landscapes, from peaceful valleys to rocky mountains, and spend your nights under the stars. Along the way, you’ll explore unique natural sites, and connect with the local culture in a meaningful and respectful way.
Itinerary
Day 1: Night Flight from Algiers to Tamanrasset
Late arrival in Tamanrasset. Welcome at the airport by our local team and transfer to your Hotel.
Day 2: Tamanrasset – Assekrem
After breakfast, departure between 9:00 and 10:00 AM toward the Assekrem plateau, at the heart of the Hoggar massif. A hike of approximately 20 to 30 minutes, short but demanding, over rocky and steep terrain, leading to the summit (2,706 m). Visit to the hermitage of Father de Foucauld and discovery of exceptional panoramic views. Spectacular sunset. Dinner and overnight at the Assekrem refuge (basic accommodation), immersed in the unique atmosphere of the Atakor.
Day 3: Assekrem – Tamanrasset
Early wake-up to watch the sunrise over Assekrem, followed by the return to Tamanrasset via the Tahabort spring. Lunch at Hôtel, followed by a guided tour of the city: the African market and the jewelers’ quarter. In the evening, a traditional Saharan African dinner featuring mutton (not suitable for vegetarians). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Tamanrasset – Tanguet
After breakfast, departure between 9:00 and 10:00 AM for an excursion to the Tanguet basin, through gardens, palm groves, and lush green landscapes. Exploration of the site and picnic lunch in the heart of nature. Return to Tamanrasset after sunset. Dinner and overnight at Hôtel Caravansérail.
Day 5: Tamanrasset – Tagmart
After breakfast, departure between 9:00 and 10:00 AM for Tagmart, renowned for its grandiose landscapes and ancient rock formations. Picnic lunch in the heart of this spectacular setting. Return to Tamanrasset after sunset, dinner, then transfer to the airport for the return flight.
